The artist was very attuned to the world around her. She followed current events closely, and was particularly affected by human suffering. As an artist she felt that her commentary on world events could best be made through creating artwork based on actual facts surrounding Incidents or circumstances like the Iran-Contra Congressional Hearings (1987), 9/11 Attack in New York City (2001), and the U.S. Wars in Afghanistan (2001) and Iraq (2003-2009).
